VOLUNTEER EVENT WAIVER

All volunteer event participants please read, complete the form, and sign below.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, INDEMNITY AND PARENTAL CONSENT

I understand that participating in Northern Virginia Conservation Trust activities is entirely voluntary. I understand that the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust volunteer events often involve physical activity, including pulling, bending, lifting and digging. I know and understand the risks and dangers involved in the above-named activities and I know and understand that unanticipated dangers may arise.  I know that if I bring my own tools and materials for use by myself or other volunteers, I alone am responsible for any damage done to them. I hereby assume all responsibility and risk, and agree to release, and waive all claims, causes of action, judgments, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees and costs, in connection with injuries or damage to persons or property sustained or incurred in connection with or as a result of my participation in this event or any related activities sponsored by the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust, and hereby agree to indemnify and hold the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust, its staff, officers, directors, members, volunteers and any others acting on behalf of the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust, harmless in connection with any and all of the foregoing.

PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE

Additionally, I hereby authorize the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust to use any images (e.g., photos) of me or, if applicable, the minor child identified below, participating in this activity for purposes related to the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust’s mission, including but not limited to publication of such images on the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust’s website and newsletters. I understand that I will not be paid or rewarded in the event of such use.

CODE OF CONDUCT

The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust is committed to providing a professional, safe, and harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, age, parental status, or physical appearance. By signing this waiver, you agree to abide by this code of conduct and ensure an environment free from inappropriate physical or verbal conduct, harassment, insult or defamation in any form. If you violate these terms, you will be asked to leave. If you experience harassment or disrespectful language or behavior, please report them to the staff lead of the event.

I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its contents. By signing this agreement, I understand that I have given up certain legal rights and that this is a binding legal document.
