Your Legacy in Action

Planned gifts have helped NVCT protect over 9,000 acres of land—from scenic trails and historic sites to vital watersheds and wildlife corridors. Your legacy gift ensures that future generations will enjoy the same natural treasures.

Legacy Circle members receive special updates, invitations to conservation events, and recognition in NVCT publications. Most importantly, they know their values will live on through protected land and thriving ecosystems.

Legacy Spotlight: Anne Terborgh

Anne Terborgh was a dedicated conservationist with a deep passion for preserving the environment. Her commitment was evident not only in her beliefs but also in her actions.

Anne firmly stood her ground during discussions with developers who wanted to build townhouses on her family property in Arlington. She was determined to conserve the land and made a substantial bequest to the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust to ensure its protection.

Now the property is home to NVCT’s Terborgh Terrace Garden, a vibrant community space that grows hundreds of pounds of fresh produce annually for donation to local food pantries through the Plot Against Hunger program.
