NVCT'S NEARBY NATURE PHOTO CONTEST
It's once again time for NVCT's Nearby Nature Photo Contest! From Earth Day, April 22, - May 22, 2024, we welcome submissions from anyone with a camera, including Northern Virginia's youth. The photographers who enter their images into our contest display a love of nature and an appreciation of how photography can inspire people to care about the life and land of the outdoors and to work passionately for their protection.
Prizes awarded for first place in these categories:

People in the Outdoors - These photos should include people out and enjoying nature.

Spring Renewal - Spring renewal is finding animals in the early stages of life or flowers in bloom.

Streams, Creeks, and Water- This category may be the most obvious. Water creates and sustains life, and we would like for you to capture its beauty.

Smartphone Snaps- Any beautiful nature photo you capture with your smartphone should be submitted to this category.

Photos by our Youth- This category is at the discretion of our youthful photographers! Anything they capture in nature may be submitted.

How to Register
Please Note:
Submitted photos must be taken within our service area. This includes: Arlington, Caroline, Fairfax, Fauquier, King George, Loudoun, Prince William, Spotsylvania, and Stafford counties; as well as nearby independent cities including Alexandria, City of Fairfax, Falls Church, Fredericksburg, Manassas, and Manassas Park.
How to Enter
1) Choose or take some awesome nature photos!
2) Download and complete the entry form and photograph release linked below
3) Email the forms to awilt@nvct.org before midnight, May 22, 2024.
*Please put your name, the category, and the title of your photo(s) somewhere in the email
4) Look out for our announcement of the winners in May! Staff will review the submissions for their creativity, content, composition, and originality and award the top photographs.
