NVCT participates in 2018 Combined Federal Campaign

Updated: Mar 19, 2019

This year’s Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is now open and we invite you to join us! Just like last year, you can contribute financially to your favorite cause or charity through the CFC. Now is not only the right time to donate but it also is the perfect time to pledge volunteer hours and efforts to support your community directly, in a hands-on fashion.

This year, Northern Virginia Conservation Trust’s designation code is: 61757. The CFC is your chance to join your colleagues, community, and beyond. To learn more, visit their website at www.cfcnca.org.

Campaign theme promotes the option to support a number of different causes and participate via social media using #ShowSomeLoveCFC

Annandale, VA– The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area/Northern Virginia launched its 2018 campaign on September 10. The CFC is the annual workplace giving opportunity for employees in the federal workplace. In 2017, federal employees gave more than $100 million through the CFC to support thousands of participating local, national, and international charities. The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust (NVCT) is a participant in this year’s campaign with a designation code of 61757.

This year’s theme encourages federal employees to Show Some Love to the causes that mean the most to them. The campaign gives donors the option to support the causes they are passionate about. And, for the second year in a row, the campaign is also inviting federal employees to Show You Care and pledge volunteer hours to accepting charities and organizations. The opportunity for federal retirees to pledge gifts through their annuity is continuing into this campaign as well. The CFC also boasts several enhancements this year, including improvements to the online pledging system, an extended giving period (now through January 11, 2019), a more user-friendly paper pledge form, and the chance for new hires to begin a pledge right away instead of having to wait for the next campaign season.

Benefits of giving through the CFC include:

  • Federal employees and retirees can give to multiple charities at once.

  • Donations are 100 percent tax deductible.

  • Payroll deduction allows donors to give a little each month, adding up to a significant gift at the end of the year.

  • Charities love the CFC because it keeps fundraising costs low, and the funds are unrestricted.

  • The campaign has a collective impact, allowing federal employees to join with their co-workers to support those in need locally, nationally, and globally.

Federal employees or retirees who wish to donate or learn more about the campaign should visit www.cfcnca.org.
