Matt Gerhart
Conservation Director
Matt joins the NVCT staff after serving as Program Manager for the San Francisco Bay Area Conservancy program of the California State Coastal Conservancy, where he helped to protect and enhance regional natural resources, improve public access to open spaces and shorelines, enhance resiliency to climate change, and protect bay area working lands.
Previously he served as a program manager for the Mendocino Land Trust and as a conservation planner and researcher working on urban and rural conservation projects throughout northern California. Matt is excited to have relocated to the District with his wife and two kids. He holds his master’s degree in Geography from the University of California at Berkeley and a bachelor’s from Yale University.
